Vignette was a special time, place and group of people. I was really excited when I heard that Adam was going to be gathering the memories and conversation that became The Story Builders. Reading the finished book, for me, was like being in a bar with some of my favorite people and listening to them tell stories about some crazy times. But the book, like a bar, can only accommodate so many story tellers. This virtual bar can accommodate everyone! So please join in and add your stories.
For me, one of the most interesting parts of the book are the places where people remember the same events very differently. That may be the thing that makes it really seems like a conversation rather than a polished story. I’m hoping that we get more of that here!
Please remember that we are all friends here. Don’t be that person at the bar that needs to be asked to leave. Keep it civil and have fun!
@Erik Josowitz - Maybe you can create a job forum for networking?
Guys, if you remember me, please let me know! I could use the boost!
Myself, when I joined Vignette in the 90s, I was young, impressionable, and I remember almost all of you.
Oh @Phillip Barnhart-- I remember you every day, of course. Phil was responsible for selecting me to assist him in his Training Manager role, for empowering me to learn how to code, and so for launching my career--which has landed me, decades later, in a leadership position as Director of Accessibility Innovation & Compliance at Houghton Mifflin Harcourt. (Why accessibility? About 7 years ago I started to lose my sight, which made my career take a sudden turn.)
Even if you don't remember me, chances are you taught me something. So cheers to the whole "first 100 employees" crew.
Thanks ejaz, for creating this forum for us! Looking forward to reading/writing!
