This may have been a night at the Black Cat Lounge, or perhaps another bar on 6th. Some great photos from @rgarber 's collection!

This may have been the roast from '99 or maybe even 2000? Can anyone identify this one?

One of my favorite traditions at VIGN were the holidays - Christmas and Halloween - where we had families and kids to the office. These photos (again, Ross' archive) are from a Halloween at the office on Far West. I'm guessing this was 1998 (though I guess it could have been 97?). Some great shots of VIGN kiddos roaming the halls in costume. And Ozor dressed as a tree?

I'm pretty sure these are photos from the send-off party we held for Marlene on the roof of the Iron Cactus downtown, while the ROT biker rally roared below!

Before it was an annual pig roast, it was a Family Outing. Always one of my favorite events, I think these pics (courtesy Ross) were from the first one.

It used to be such a great thing when you would come across a Vignette CURL on a site that you didn't know or expect to be a customer site. Spotting CURLs in the wild was a sport! @Charlie Wood once wrote a post explaining what the components of a CURL meant. http://static.userland.com/userLandDiscussArchive/msg003891.html Its been awhile since I've spotted a wild CURL. Anyone know of remaining live sites?

Does anyone have photos of old pig roast posters? Photos from the roasts themselves?

I think the old joke was that Vignette was actually a t-shirt company funding itself by making software? Got photos of old t-shirts?

My memory of this whole thing is fuzzy, so hoping others can fill in the blanks. Definitely a story that didn’t make it into the book. There was a release celebration that had moved onto Sixth Street, maybe it was the Rebel release? It was near the end of the night and we wound up in one of those very dark dirty clubs, I think it was the Black Cat. Someone grabbed Neil‘s arm to drag him onto the dance floor. My memory is that it was Beth Buyse, but who knows. They dragged him nose first into a pole. Put a very quick stop to the evening!

Vignette was a special time, place and group of people. I was really excited when I heard that Adam was going to be gathering the memories and conversation that became The Story Builders. Reading the finished book, for me, was like being in a bar with some of my favorite people and listening to them tell stories about some crazy times. But the book, like a bar, can only accommodate so many story tellers. This virtual bar can accommodate everyone! So please join in and add your stories. For me, one of the most interesting parts of the book are the places where people remember the same events very differently. That may be the thing that makes it really seems like a conversation rather than a polished story. I’m hoping that we get more of that here! Please remember that we are all friends here. Don’t be that person at the bar that needs to be asked to leave. Keep it civil and have fun!
